Mercy Medical Center has recently made the decision to collaborate with other EMS training agencies in the area and discontinue the EMT and Paramedic courses previously offered at Mercy Medical Center. Mercy will continue to be a primary clinical site for EMT hospital-based training. Mercy Medical Center has worked to streamline the process for EMT training within our hospital ensuring that every participant has a comprehensive clinical experience throughout the clinical units of the medical center.
Mercy Medical Center has also created this EMS Portal to provide our EMS colleagues a resource for useful information. The EMS Portal will contain links to the various accredited training institutions, EMS websites, and on-line continuing education programs in addition to the American Heart Association programs conducted within Mercy Medical Center.
Mercy Medical Center will continue to provide EMS continuing education in the form of monthly Morbidity and Mortality rounds, continuing education lectures and in-hospital clinical experience. The next EMS Day Experience is to be held on December 15, 2009 from 10 a.m. 4 p.m. This free event will have a total of 5-hours of continuing education credits, tours of the ICU/IMC and emergency room along with a buffet lunch. This day will show our appreciation for EMS and the services that they provide for our community.
Be sure to bookmark this page and continue to check this portal frequently for updates, new offerings and important announcements.
