Mercy Medical Center is aware of the situation involving New England Compounding Center (NECC) and the recall of an injectable steroid medication that has been implicated in the outbreak of fungal meningitis and joint infections.
Mercy Medical Center did not receive or use this particular medication from NECC.
As a precaution to insure the safety of our patients, Mercy Medical Center has removed all drugs in our inventory produced by NECC and is participating in any recalls of NECC drugs.
One medication provided by NECC that is not on the list of potentially infected medications was supplied to Mercy Medical Center. Any patient treated at Mercy Medical Center who received this medication has been contacted by both their physician and the hospital. At this time there are no reported issues related to this medication or with patients who received this medication.
