Occupational Therapy
233 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104
413-748-6830

Occupational therapists (OT’s) and occupational therapy assistants (OTA’s) help people across the lifespan participate in the activities (occupations) they want and need to do. When an individual experiences an injury, disease, or “wear and tear” as a result of repetitive stress or the aging process, OT’s can help them regain skills and participate in meaningful activities.

All of Weldon’s Occupational Therapy staff are NBCOT certified and licensed to practice in Massachussetts.

Occupational therapy services typically include:

  • Initial evaluation, during which the client and OT determine the client’s goals (i.e. the activities the client wants to “get back to”).
  • Customized treatment programs to improve the ability to perform daily activities, including but not limited to skills retraining, adaptive equipment training, home/work site modification.
  • Education to family members and caregivers.
  • Outcomes evaluation to ensure that the goals are being met and/or make changes to the intervention plan.

Outpatient Occupational Therapy also offers specialized programs for the following areas:
